"UGNAYAN '05"
4th Philippine International Performance Art Festival
(PIPAF)
UGNAYAN ’05 is a week-long performance art festival tobe held in several venues around Manila from SEPTEMBER17-22, 2005.
The 4th PIPAF was conceived, as an "event" forartists, to reconstruct through their performativeactions the "invisible in the visible". As a"venue-for-exchange", a "meeting point" between andamong national and international performance artists,“UGNAYAN’05” bolsters that urgent desire toreintegrate art and life and reaffirm and re-identifywith own cultural roots. As a "platform" for artists,it is to redefine contemporary, theoretical andconceptual art making processes - to reclaim lostvalues and denigrated methods and codes that re-createnew cultural systems.
- Yuan Mor'O Ocampo, Artistic Director, Ugnayan’05
